Protect Your Auto Insurance By Buying Defensive Vehicle
A good way to keep your auto insurance premiums down is by buying a “defensive” vehicle. A defensive vehicle would be any kind of vehicle that is resistant to impacts, malfunctions, and any other hazardous thing that auto insurance companies would be worried about.
Impacts
The biggest thing that auto insurance companies are worried about when it comes to problems is impacts. If your vehicle has features such as rear and side door airbags, anti-lock breaks, or simply made out of stronger materials, you will be less likely to receive injury from an accident and so will your car. This means that the auto insurance agency will have to pay little to no money on repairs, hospital bills, funeral costs, etc. When the auto insurance company has a smaller risk of paying out money, your premiums are much lower.
Malfunctions
Another thing auto insurance companies are worried about is electrical malfunctions. This could be anything ranging from the steering wheel to the seat belts or from the brakes to the wind shield wipers. If any of these systems malfunction then the auto insurance company can be held responsible and if, god forbid, any of these systems malfunction while you are driving, much worse damage could be incurred, therefore resulting in the auto insurance company having to pay not only for the repairs to the malfunctioning equipment but also for any resulting amounts from the accident itself. If you have a warranty for your vehicle that lasts for atleast two years, you might be able to show this to your auto insurance company for a discount on your premiums. This is because, if you have a warranty, the auto insurance company can blame the car dealer for any malfunctions instead of paying for it out of their own pockets.
